Whatcha been up to?

My last post on this blog was October 30, which makes it exactly eight months today. Now, because this is not my first blog rodeo, I am not at all surprised that I managed to go eight months without writing and stopped feeling guilty about it about after around month…four.

Considering some major life events that unfolded in those eight months, it’s even less surprising. The beauty of a blog, especially one like this, which is simply of a personal journal of my journey, is that it’s not going anywhere.

*TANGENT ALERT!* Hmmm…journey and journal: an eternal exploration and an internal exploration…they must have the same stem word! (quick google search) Yes!

Journey comes from the Old French journée: “a day’s length,” and the Latin diurnus: “of one day.”

Journal comes from the Old French journel: “a day’s work,” and also the Latin diurnus. (In Latin, the letter D usually remains in French, *except* when it’s followed by -iu- in which case the -i- becomes a -j- and ejects the D.)

I LOVE WORDS!

Ok, where was I? The last eight months. In a nutshell, beginning in November and the start of the holiday season, my family of five has sold our house in a rural community, bought a house in town, and moved in the middle of the week in late January, all while continuing work, school, activities, and travel like nothing ever happened.

So, here I am, back like nothing ever happened, to wrap up the assignments that I’m completing on this blog for my 200 hr certification. I have:

  • completed six 2-day training weekends from September-March
  • attended at least 45 hours of vinyasa classes
  • attended a yoga workshop
  • took before and after pictures of 10 key asanas
  • designed and taught a class
  • read several books
  • completed a written exam
  • and PAID IN FULL!

Time to get that certification!
